The Safe Spaces Podcast celebrates not just our monumental Episode 41, but Christmas – and all chronologically related holidays around it with our special Christmas Movie/Show related show. That’s right: all Christmas related movies, shows, and other fascinating trivia are under the tree in this jingle bell of an episode. No coal lumps here, boys and girls, even if you’ve been naughty (and you’ve all been pretty darn naughty this year).

What’s your favorite Christmas movie and/or TV special? Whether it’s perennial holiday classics like It’s A Wonderful Life, A Christmas Story, A Charlie Brown Christmas Special, or even How the Grinch Stole Christmas, there’s something for everyone as our hosts regale listeners with their favorite choices, and even a few historical surprises and culture facts.

Share in the love for the Bill Murray classic Scrooged, or the epic awesomeness of Santa Claus: The Movie! Maybe some Peter Dinklage love for Elf? Or the great Rankin/Bass animated specials Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman. Or maybe you prefer to spent your “holidays” with some good old-fashioned terrorist killing and a few yippie ki yays ala Die Hard. There’s something for everyone under our inclusive tree of celluloid yuletide magic.

But we’ve saved the best for last: a complete, thorough tear down of what could be (and likely is) the single WORST Christmas themed thing of all-time: the “live-action” broadcast of Fox’s A Christmas Story Live, which perverts the beloved 1983 original movie with unwanted political correctness, incidental racism, wretched songs, and several vomit-inducing performances. Basically, it’s everything you loved about the original, minus everything you loved about the original. Do you remember that Holocaust-mentioned Hanukah ditty from the original movie? Neither do we!

With all that said, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!
