It’s the first episode of the Safe Spaces Podcast following Black Friday/Cyber Monday 2017 – and we’re still alive! Alive and kicking, actually, which is great if you’re a subscriber. New episodes are always good, and that’s exactly what you’re getting in this post-Thanksgiving second helping of politically incorrect leftovers. It’s all gravy, baby; no filler.

Did you catch the trailer for Ridley Scott’s upcoming All The Money in the World? You might need to take another look, because it’s…changed. Following the sexual scandal that banished Kevin Spacey from all his current projects, the Academy Award-winning actor’s performance has been famously replaced by none other than another Academy Award-winning actor, Christopher Plummer, who’s way more age-appropriate anyway.

Elsewhere in Hollywood – and in mainstream news – it’s sex, sex, sex once again as icons and legends continue to get drummed out of their respective industries for sexual assault, harassment, and worse. This week’s losers include NBC’s Matt Lauer, Def Jam’s Russell Simmons, and Minnesota Public Radio (i.e. NPR) Garrison Keillor. Why are so many famous faces being expelled from paradise? Co-host Anton has a theory, and it’s bound to be controversial; well, as controversial as sacrificing a few children for the greater good (and almighty dollar) can be.

The craziest part? He’s totally correct. The following conversation may not be for the squeamish listener (or animal lover) as our hosts dive deep into the terrors of tribalism and ideologies run amuck. They also take on the inanities of fake morality in conservative media and the more-than-willingness of some to ‘look the other way’ while atrocities happen right under their noses. Hypocrites, you might say? It’s hard to be a hypocrite when you don’t believe in anything in the first place.

And finally, we couldn’t let an episode go without the surprising renewal of Massachusetts’ Senator Elizabeth Warren and her fraudulent claim to be a Native-American in order to gain employment at Harvard University. This most implausible (but true) of scenarios came back into the spotlight after President Trump commented on her cultural appropriation, once again calling her “Pocahontas”, which didn’t sit well with progressives and most real Native-Americans. So grab that bowl of delicious Pow Wow Chow (look it up!) and get ready to learn a little more about the next possible Democrat candidate for President.
